I enjoy creating orignal and creative answers to graphic design problems. Design Process

I use a similar approach for most of my graphic design projects, this make it easier for the cilent and myself to know exactly where the project is at any given moment. This also provides a time table for what the cilent can expect to see and when payments should be made. The 4 steps in my design process are expanded below:

Step 1: Project Definition

Defining the project is a necessary first step in any design process. This is so that both the designer and client are clear on what exactly is being created, how much it will cost, and when it will be ready. Things that will be brought up during project deffinition include the type of media desired, the quality of the media and color ranges available, the size and scope of the project, etc.

Step 2: Rough Draft

During this stage I work with the client to brainstorm a list of possible ideas and options to use for the project. After narrowing the choices down to a few ideas I may create rough drafts or sketches of the final choices so that the client can compare and decide which design he/she prefers. At this point colors, fonts, styles and other appearances can be tweaked to the customers specifications.

Step 3: Proof Checking

Once a final design has been selected by the customer I will create a high quality version of that design for final review and proofing. At this point the customer must double-check the design to make sure there are no typographical errors or any other changes they want to make to appearance or style.

Step 4: Completion

All done! The final design is finished and ready to go. At this point I will email, or otherwise deliver, the final design to the customer through e-mail or on DVD, in the format and resolution desired. If requested, all Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign or other data files that we used can be included as well.

[ Troop 435 T-Shirt ]

Description:

This was my second project for Boy Scout Troop 435, follow the website I had designed for them. The Troop had requested the shirt have some sort of adventure theme, along with the subheading "on the path to adventure!" We decided to use an Indiana Jones inspired layout to coincide with the adventure theme and make the shirts something fun that the boys could enjoy. Because the Boy Scouts of America are a non-profit organization this design was 50% off.

This was a simple graphic design project consisting of creating a flyer for an upcomming club event.

   Packaging ]

Description:

Green Dragon Roach Kill is a up and coming business in the pest control field. Following the inital release of their Roach Kill product, Green Dragon asked me to do a peliminary redesign of their wholesale packaging in preperation for a possible retail rollout.

[ Cost Plus Logo Design ]

Description:

This is a logo I designed for the Cost Plus Construction company to match their new website that I also created (website can be seen under "Web Design" portfolio section). Cost Plus had a small budget, but wanted something stylish and elegant without being pompous. Fonts and elements were chosen to be classical, yet modern and sleek.
